"The Ho" (41)
Twenty Third Trip (Continued)
Dave took along his daughter, Jessica, and two of her friends. Tristan and Travis both bought their girlfriends. I did warn Jessica and her friends that if they weren't good that they'd have to ride in "The Ho" with me and that they wouldn't like that at all!!! It was nice that they came along as they took a lot of the photographs and videos that appear on this trip's pages. The girls did take a lot of photos of themselves too, so it's only fair that I put a couple of theirs on these pages too.
Attica is about 6o miles north of Terre Haute and we all got there around 9:45am on Saturday, 1st march, 2008. Once there we headed off to the dunes, which were frozen solid.
Attica Badlands dunes
After messing around on the dunes for a while we went off and explored the creek. After all the damage I did last time, I was a bit dubious about getting in the creek again, but the water level was low and there wasn't much ice so I thought it would be OK. Everything went great until I went through one of the culverts. The winter stream had carried away some of the creek bottom and when I emerged from the far end of the culvert the back of "The Ho" got caught up...
I'm getting quite good as climbing out of "The Ho" without getting soaking wet and cold
Throwing Dave a line from the half-submerged "Ho"
Trying to find the submerged tow points
The water was very cold!!!

After splashing our way through the creek we decided to head off towards the quarry....
"The Ho"
Compared to the dunes the ice in the quarry had started to melt and the going was muddy and slippery...
